Beauty Is…
Beauty is where your heart takes you;
where you can enjoy life.
Beauty is where your heart can help, or be helped.
It is the kindness inside you that you know you have.
It’s also where you can meet new friends;
places you feel safe and loved are too, beautiful.
Beauty is friendships that you have that are honest and true.
Beauty is something the blind can see and the deaf can hear.
Beauty is anywhere you can live and love.
Beauty is anywhere you can fall and anywhere you can rise.
Beauty is when your love is abundant
and fears aren’t there.
Beauty is everywhere!
By Jessica Hairston
This poem was written by my youngest, Jessica (Jess) Hairston when she was 11 years old. What a great perspective she had about “Beauty”, and coming from one who was so young.
I love the poem.
Please check out my new article on Grace, called His Grace is Sufficient. This is a two part article. Part 1 is found at this link.

I’d love to hear from you.

Linda,
I really could relate to your article. I loved so much of it; but, really was touched by this particular part.
“Our worth is not dependent on our goodness, our possessions, our intelligence, or our physical appearance. Our worth does not increase with the items
we check off on our “to do” list. These things can make us feel good, but they do not increase our value. There is a subtle but important difference between
self-esteem and self-worth. Self-esteem is what we think of ourselves and it can change. Self-worth goes much deeper. It is who we are. It does not change.
It is eternal.”
Thank you for finding, and posting your comment! I was laughing about your hundred dollar bill story. I teach health, and we do something similar with a York peppermint patty. We ask who wants it? Many want it at first. Then we unwrap it, sniff it, lick it, handle it, etc. We ask the question again, and no one seems to want it after that. We try to make a point and encourage abstinence.
Again, thank you for sharing your blog. Please look for Grace Desired on Facebook and post your site there as well. It would be beneficial to many to read. It’s all about furthering His Kingdom!
i so much loVe the poem.
“Beauty is friendships that you have that are honest and true.”
Truly, without price!
